So there we were, sitting on a roof terrace, watching the sun set over the bay in Kalkan, pre-dinner Martinis in hand and discussing why so many visitors come back to this small town year after year. Many of Kalkans charms were mentioned, but not one of them alone could be enough reason.
As is often the way with such conversations, no real definitive conclusion was reached. Kalkan attracts a significant number of returning visitors, and many of those visit twice a year or more. There had to be something about it, surely!? Something we could spell out for you, explain to you, but we simply couldn’t find the words for the indefinable whole that makes everyone fall so completely in love with this place.
