Hello and welcome!
I’m Julia Sondack, founder of Holiday Homes Turkey and creator of great Turkish Holiday Experiences.
My business came about through a love of property, experiences, and travel.
It’s my Mum’s Fault
Honestly, I’m blaming her totally! If she hadn’t taken me on a tour of South West Turkey in 2014 I would not have discovered this wonderful country. Rich in culture, warm in welcome and diverse in activities and fun things to do.
This trip awoke my passion to discover, explore and indulge. I then decided I wanted to share this with others. Through that original trip I made some fabulous friends and contacts which helped me find opportunities to connect with Turkish tourism and property.
At the time I was partner in an interior furnishings business we’d had for 20 years. My first opportunity came in the shape of a chap who’d just finished the build on his villa and had no idea how to furnish it or market it to UK holiday makers. No problem I said – little did I know procurement of items was not as easy as at home!
My First Villa
It was an exciting time furnishing my first villa from top to toe right down to the last teaspoon! We managed to get this done in a matter of weeks and in time for the start of the season. Our professional photographer produced stunning images and we set up our first website for the villa.
Holiday Homes Turkey
Within months other property owners in Kalkan liked what they saw and, approached me asking if I would market their villas and apartments. Of course, I said yes, I was so enjoying the challenge.
We developed a new website to encompass these properties and Holiday Homes Turkey was born.
Experience Turkey
At the same time, I decided I didn’t just want to sell rental weeks in properties. I felt I could offer so much more. The difference between a good holiday and a great holiday is that little extra – experiences creating amazing memories to treasure.
Always up for trying things new and collaborating with other businesses I made it my priority to seek out reliable and friendly local suppliers of trips, tours, activities, and experiences to enhance my guests’ stay in Kalkan.
We tried and tested all the activities and tours we offer; jumped off a cliff – paragliding, rode a horse on Patara beach, dived in Kalamar, learned how to cook traditional Turkish dishes, how to master cocktail making, visited incredible historical sites, relaxed on many a boat trip, parasailed and had a jolly good time.
Through this I’ve developed excellent relationships with suppliers of these and more such as airport transfers, taxi drivers and car hire.

As a Mum of two, from a large extended family, I know how tricky it can be pleasing everyone on holiday. I understand what’s needed in the place you stay to keep all the generations happy and comfortable. As well as the importance of keeping kiddies, teenagers and adults interested and occupied.
I know you’re busy and trawling through websites trying to search for your ideal accommodation or holiday activities can be exhausting and daunting.

Hi, I am Di Karakaya, recently appointed associate to Julia Sondack, founder of Holiday Homes Turkey , Experience Turkey and Kalkan Retreats.
I am very fortunate to be located here in captivating Turkey.
My background’s always been in property related services; building design, space planning, renovation, and interior design. To date I’ve designed and built 4 villas in Turkey. The love of travel has always been a passion as well as the love of life itself.

Once we’ve created your perfect holiday plan, we will then request a deposit payment from you. *terms and conditions
When we’ve received this your accommodation and experiences are reserved.
By booking everything in advance you ensure a seamless stay without the search for things to do or the disappointment of things being booked up when you arrive.
