The small town of Kalkan has a long history, having always been an important trading port on the South West coast. Known in the past by its Greek name of Kalamaki until the exchange of Greek and Turkish populations after WWI. Kalkan is now a haven of peace and tranquility for those wishing to escape the busier delights of the larger towns. Still retaining all the charm of the small village it once was with a strong community, but offering a warm welcome to visitors, Kalkan has something for everyone. Nestling in the hillsides surrounding the bay, the quaint old streets offer shopping, restaurants and bars whilst entertainments can be found around town. Down by the harbour is probably the best place in the world to sit and relax and watch the world go by, whilst sunbathing and the sound of the sea on the beach is a must do.
Kalkan is also the perfect base for exploring this region of Turkey, with easy access to umpteen historical sites, mountains, beautiful beaches, activities to suit all tastes, from relaxed to adventurous and even total adrenaline rush. We can help organise trips and tours, or arrange car hire if you fancy getting out and about.
Whatever you choose to do, Kalkan will welcome you with open arms, wrap you in its warm embrace and always wish you a speedy return when you leave. All you have to do is enjoy it.
